Description

1966 Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Coupe ALL Numbers Matching 327ci / 350hp 4-Speed (L79 HT code engine) FMC is pleased to offer this beautiful '66 Corvette StingRay Coupe. In 1966, 27700 Corvettes were produced and 9958 were coupes. Only 1463 (5%) were made in Trophy Blue (GM color code 980), a rare color choice.. After a closer look at this Corvette, we've noticed that their are quite a few rarities on this beauty. The engine, transmission & rear end are all matching. The stamped numbers are shown in the photos. The carburetor is original Holley 4bbl. The rear is also original to this car. It is obvious that this car has been very well taken care of since new. We believe this car to be a two (2) owner car with the last owner purchasing the car in the early 90's. Since his passing two years ago, ownership has been legally transferred to his daughter who chose not to registered the car. The matching numbers 327/350hp engine runs like new. This 327/350 came with a 11.0:1 compression ratio from the factory; higher than the two other engine options in '66, the 327/300 and yes, the 427/390 which both had a 10.5:1 compression ratio. The odometer shows just 81000 miles which we believe to be actual. There are no signs of a rebuild nor has the engine ever been taken out of the car. There are a few other specialties to this Corvette. The Gold Line tires, the knockoff wheels and side pipes. These were very expensive options in the day and extremely desirable options today. We do not believe that these were factory equipped options on this car but we do know that they have been on the car for at least the last 40 years. One other notable feature on this Corvette is the Big Block hood which replaced its original hood many decades ago. Unfortunately we do not know why the original hood was swapped with this big block hood but some could consider this an upgrade. The body, and all paint, chrome and trim are all in excellent condition. The chrome shines beautifully but there are a few scratches. The trim is like new. The paint shines beautifully but there are a few paint chips that are common from road use. Overall the paint condition & rating would be a solid 8. The interior is in excellent condition and all features work as they should including the horn, the AM-FM radio with power antenna and the clock. All glass is original except for the front windshield. The engine bay is super clean and exceptionally well kept. It starts & runs perfectly and sounds just as good. There is no doubt about the power and speed of this machine! You will feel that for yourself on your test drive which is reserved for serious inquiries only!! Tires and brakes are in tip-top shape. Driving is super tight with no pulling while driving or stopping, no shakes, rattles or rolls & no leaks of any kind. This is a really nice and very special classic Corvette just waiting to get back on the road in the hands of its next new owner / caretaker.
